The Financial Services Authority is the UK's sole financial services regulator. Its remit covers four key areas: to maintain market confidence; to raise public awareness of the financial system; to ensure consumers are protected and to target and reduce financial crime.
In today's financial climate, a robust regulatory stance is crucial. So whether its working with banks, building societies and insurance companies or financial advisers, fund managers, mortgage brokers or intermediaries, the FSA applies the same firm but fair standards.
Opportunities exist for people with the potential to develop and the talent to deliver. The FSA's graduate programmes are carefully constructed to give graduates real responsibility and valuable experience from day one. As well as the generalist programme, there are specialist law, HR, actuarial, economics and management accounting programmes.
Following a comprehensive induction, successful applicants will be allocated two placements that will give them in–depth exposure to FSA work. Later, they'll have their third and final rotation which includes a six–month external secondment will enable them to view the industry from a different perspective.
The starting salary for graduates is £29,000 — plus also a £2,500 joining bonus, as well as further performance–related rewards and an array of excellent benefits.
In addition to a 2.1 in any subject, 300 UCAS tariff points and the unrestricted right to work in the UK, graduates will need to be decisive, results–driven, highly analytical team players with excellent people skills and initiative.
