DLA Piper is one of the world's largest law firms. With more than 3,700 lawyers across 29 countries throughout Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US, DLA Piper is positioned to help companies with their legal needs anywhere in the world.
Their current vision is to be the leading global business law firm. Clients include some of the world's leading businesses, governments, banks and financial institutions. DLA Piper offers trainees in all UK offices the opportunity to apply for a range of client and international secondments.
In 2008 DLA Piper won the prestigious National Graduate Recruitment Awards Diversity Recruitment Award, proving their commitment to recruiting people from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages.
There is no standard DLA Piper trainee, however they do require a strong academic background and look for good communicators and team players. As well as this, in line with the firm's main focus of work, a keen interest in the corporate world is essential — as is an appetite for life!
Trainees complete four six-month seats and progress is monitored through regular reviews and feedback. The in-house Professional Skills Course combined with high-quality on-the-job experience means an excellent grounding on which DLA Piper's trainees build their professional careers.
The firm operates a formal summer scheme, which runs between June and August each year. The schemes run for two weeks and allow a thorough insight into DLA Piper. There are approximately 170 places available nationwide.
