Linklaters is a global law firm that advises the world's leading companies, financial institutions and governments on their most important and challenging transactions and assignments. This is an ambitious and innovative firm which aims to become the leading premium global law firm. Its drive to create something new in professional services provides a very special offer to graduates.
While many law firms have strengths in particular areas, Linklaters is strong across the full range of corporate, financial and commercial law. This makes the firm a particularly stimulating place to train as a business lawyer.
The firm recruits graduates from both law and non-law disciplines. Non-law graduates spend a conversion year at law school taking the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). All trainees have to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) before starting their training contracts. The firm meets the costs of both the GDL and LPC and provides a maintenance grant for both. The training contract is built around four six-month seats or placements in a range of practice areas. The majority of Linklaters trainees have the opportunity to go on international and/or client secondments.
Linklaters people come from many different backgrounds and cultures; by working together to achieve great things for clients, they are encouraged to achieve their own ambitions and potential. With global opportunities, entrepreneurial freedom and world-class training, Linklaters trainees work alongside some of the world's best lawyers on some of the most challenging deals. The firm has high expectations of its trainees, but the rewards — personal and professional as well as financial — are very high indeed.
