Microsoft have created an environment where people can do their best. Hard work is expected, but graduates and students are free to satisfy their intellectual curiosity. Microsoft is somewhere people can think along new lines, explore truly exciting technologies and actually enjoy spending time.
The people who flourish at Microsoft are natural communicators with inquisitive natures, a passion for technology and an instinctive understanding of customers. But what really sets them apart is a drive that raises them above the average whether they join commercial or technical business groups.
The Microsoft Academy for University Hires (MACH) provides the perfect transition between academic and professional life. Although challenging, it equips graduates with the professional skills and know-how required for a rewarding and successful career at Microsoft. Graduates will genuinely tackle unchartered territory, whether working in a technical, sales or marketing role. It might mean discovering how others work or thinking along new lines. Either way, successful applicants will be stepping outside their comfort zone.
The graduate programme includes residential courses at international locations and self-directed learning. Graduates will be given real responsibility, whilst also having the support of managers and mentors throughout. The basic requirements are a 2:1, creativity, vision, people skills, an inquiring mind and a willingness to learn.
The emphasis during student placements in Reading or London is on supplementing theory learnt at university with real, practical experience. The 48 week scheme starts in July with a week-long induction. Training can include residential courses and self-directed learning.
